Eric Frazier joined the United States Marine Corp, shortly after the events of September 11. He returned from his tour in 2005 healthy and able-bodied, only to suffer a spinal cord injury that confined him to a wheelchair.

Within a year of becoming T12 paraplegic, Eric completed his first long distance cycling event as a Member of World T. E.A.M Sports, riding 175 miles from Gettysburg, Pennsylvania to Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. Soon after, he joined Team Semper Fi, a group of wounded Marines and Sailors who refused to let their challenges prevent them from competing in athletic events and whose athletic drive and unwavering spirit on the road to recovery was inspirational to all who met them.

Eric is passionate about giving back to the organizations that have made it possible for him to achieve so many of his goals. He often seeks out soldiers who may need a hand, after suffering an injury, and he visits local schools and churches to share his experiences as a challenged athlete; demonstrating that “where there is a will, there is a way.”

Eric is a competitive athlete in the sports of Handcycling, Triathlon, and Wheelchair Basketball. Within a year of first learning to ride a handcycle, Eric earned a spot as an Alternate for the U.S. Paralympic Team at the Beijing Summer Games. Most recently, Eric learned to ski and was invited to compete with both U.S. Cross Country Skiing and Biathlon Ski Team. Eric was asked to attend the Vancouver Games as an Alternate and Athlete Ambassador. With this latest experience with the Olympic Spirit, Eric is committed to making the U.S. Paralympic Team in 2012 and has his eyes on Gold.
